First, the CBD is extracted from the hemp plant, often using CO2 extraction. It is then suspended in a carrier oil, usually MCT oil or hemp oil.
In order to get this ultra-pure form of isolated CBD, a purifying process follows the actual extraction process.
This purification process includes filtration where all plant material is filtered out of the extract.
Following filtration, the extracted oil goes through what’s known as a “winterization process” that further removes any waxes or other plant materials that were still present after filtration.
What's left is CBD isolate powder which has single molecule purities as high 99.9%. They are called isolates because they are isolated molecule formulations. Anecdotally, many consider these to be the least effective cannabis form because they do not include additional cannabinoids and terpenes. However, these are excellent for those who can't risk being exposed to THC.
A ‘CBD topical method' refers to a CBD product that is applied directly to the skin. This can be in the form of a cream, ointment, salve, balm, moisturizer even oil. CBD topicals often contain other ingredients besides CBD, usually “skin-healthly” ingredients like cocoa butter, shea butter, and various certified organic handcrafted herbs like lavender, calendula, chamomile, etc.
Using a CBD topical for pain and inflammation is incredibly easy; you simply apply a small amount to the area of discomfort, and massage it a little before allowing the product to sink in. Usually takes about 30-45 minutes. Some say they even feel it instantly.
Using this method, the CBD penetrates the skin barrier where our CB2 receptors are and affects the ECS directly, rather than having to go through the bloodstream or digestive system. This can make it a highly effective method for targeting a specific area of discomfort.
If you have a localized pain like joint pain from arthritis, topicals can potentially provide a faster and more immediate form of relief. In some instances, they have also been used for skin conditions like eczema, psoriasis and can even help manage acne by modulating the skin's sebum production. If you want to target a specific area and leave the rest of your body to its own devices, then these topicals are an amazing option.
These CBD topicals are 100% THC FREE!
